A commonly used baby toy found in many households has been pulled from the market following serious safety concerns. Amazon Recalls Popular Montessori Baby Toy After Over 30 Choking Incidents, prompting warnings for parents and caregivers to act immediately.
The product in question is the Yetonamr Pull String Teething Toy, a Montessori-style sensory toy marketed as a way to boost a baby’s sensory development and motor skills. The manufacturer also promoted it as an ideal travel toy for toddlers. However, safety officials say the design poses a significant risk.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the toy’s silicone strings are smaller than safety standards allow. This design flaw means the strings can reach the back of a child’s throat and potentially become lodged.
“The silicone strings can reach the back of the throat and become stuck, creating a serious choking hazard, risk of respiratory distress, and even death,” the CPSC stated in its recall notice issued on Thursday, Jan. 22.
Details of the Recall
Approximately 6,800 units of the toy are affected by the recall. The product features multiple silicone strings, soft push buttons, and three free-spinning rings. It also includes a red or blue ball attached to an off-white disc, along with buttons and rings designed to engage infants.
Alarmingly, the CPSC has confirmed 32 reported choking incidents involving this toy. While no fatalities have been announced, officials emphasize that the risk is severe enough to warrant immediate action.

Where and When the Toy Was Sold
The recalled Montessori teething toy was sold exclusively on Amazon between June 2025 and October 2025. Prices ranged from $10 to $16. Consumers can identify the recalled item by checking the packaging for “Model no. 688-59.”
What Parents Should Do Now
Anyone who purchased the toy is urged to stop using it immediately. The CPSC advises consumers to contact Longyanguiheng, the distributor, to receive a full refund.
To complete the recall process, consumers are instructed to:
Cut and discard all silicone string tentacles
Write “DESTROYED” on the main body of the toy using a permanent marker
Email a photo of the destroyed product to yetonamr_recall@163.com
A Reminder for Parents and Caregivers
This recall serves as an important reminder that even popular and well-reviewed baby products can pose hidden dangers. Parents are encouraged to regularly check recall notices and inspect toys for potential hazards, especially those designed for infants and toddlers who are prone to putting objects in their mouths.
